Who are the five Indian players who can only perform well in Tests?

Indian team

As you all know that the game of cricket mainly consists of three formats. Tests, ODIs and T20s. A good player is one who performs well in all three formats and adapts himself according to the circumstances. But unlike them there are some players who perform very well in one format but do not repeat it in other formats.

Today we will talk about those five Indian players who could only do well in Test cricket, could not continue their best performance in other formats. Such players are made only for Test matches.

Vvs laxman

1.VVS Laxman

The first name in this list comes from Very-Very Special batsman VVS Laxman of Hyderabad. He is one of the most famous players of India. We all enjoy listening to his commentary in the commentary box. He is counted among the best batsmen in the world. VVS Laxman has won India many times coming to bat at number 6 in Test matches. With his excellent batting, VVS used to relieve the bowlers' sweat. VVC is the only player in the world who have played more than 100 Test matches but could not play a single ODI World Cup match. While playing 134 Test matches, scored 8781 runs at an average of 46, VVS Laxman could score only 2338 runs in 88 ODIs at an average of 30.

Cheteshwar pujara

2. Cheteshwar Pujara

The other name that comes of A complete test match batsman. Yes, we are talking about Cheteshwar Pujara, the new wall of India's Test. Cheteshwar is a great Test batsman in every sense. Hardly any other batsman bats with such restraint and patience. Pujara has scored more than 5500 runs in 77 Tests at an average of 48.7. But in the same ODI, his condition is worse than VVS Laxman. Pujara has scored 51 runs in 5 ODIs at an average of just 10. Leave aside the T20. In the IPL, no team includes them in their team.

3.Ravichandran Ashwin

The third name comes in this list of India's finest off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. It is not that his performance in ODIs is poor. But he is also made for Test matches only. Ravichandran Ashwin has troubled good batsmen with his spin bowling on Indian pitches. He has taken 365 wickets in 71 Tests at an average of just 2.84. He has also taken 5 wickets in an innings 27 times and 10 wickets in an innings 7 times. Talking about batting, Ashwin has scored more than 2000 runs in Tests and has scored four centuries. In contrast, he took 150 wickets and scored 673 runs in ODIs. In which it could only score a half-century. Although Ravichandran Ashwin was also a member of the 2011 World Cup winning team but he has been running out of the ODI team since the 2017 Champions Trophy. And after the increasing popularity of wrist spinners, it is very difficult to return to the ODI team. Experts believe that he only needs to focus on the test.

4.Murali Vijay

The fourth name comes of India's trusted Test opener Murali Vijay. He was also able to show his ability only in the test format. Murali Vijay, who performed well on difficult pitches of India and abroad due to his excellent technique, was the best batsman in India's Test for many years. In 61 Tests, Murali Vijay scored 3981 runs which included 15 fifties and 12 centuries. In contrast, if we look at the limited format, Murali Vijay has scored 339 and 169 runs in ODIs at an average of 21 and T20 only 18.

5. Ishant Sharma

The fifth and last name comes of Ishant Sharma. Ishant Sharma is considered one of India's best fast bowlers in Tests due to his stature and ability to swing the ball. He has taken 297 rickets in 97 Test matches. Even if he is unable to make it to the eleven in ODIs, Ishant is still an important part of the Indian pace attack.
Ishant has also done well on the bouncy pitches of Australia and England. His agility and ability to sled batsmen make him different from the rest of the bowlers. In the coming years, Ishant Sharma will continue to be an important Test player of India, who with his ability will also make his significant contribution in winning
Test matches in India and abroad.

These were the 5 Test players who could not repeat their performance in the rest of the format.

🙏Thank you🙏
