Which are the batsmen who hit the fastest century in five ODIs?

What makes a cricket match a memorable match ? What happens in a match that people remember forever? The memories of the match still remain in the hearts of the fans. People surprised to see that. In that match, either a bowler has sent a lot of batsmen to the pavilion or a batsman sent the opposition to backfoot from his explosive innings. Today we will talk about the five batsmen who made that ODI memorable because their innings had made people excited. We will talk about the five batsmen scoring the fastest century in ODI cricket. So let's start with-

                       AB de Villiers

The record of scoring the fastest century in ODIs is in the name of AB de Villiers. The 360-degree South African batsman scored a century in just 31 balls against the West Indies in 2015. It is the fastest century of the three formats of international cricket. In that match, AB de Villiers played at a strike rate of 338 runs and scored 149 runs in just 44 balls which included 9 fours and 16 sixes. Because of that innings, South Africa gave the West Indies a huge target of 440 runs and the West Indies failed to make it.  Breaking this record will be very difficult for the rest of the batsmen and probably for many years you will get to see the record of ABD.

                      Shahid Afridi

Pakistan's Shahid Afridi is considered as the world's best all-rounder at number three. He is also known as Boom Boom Afridi. Shahid Afridi, who snatched the win from the opposition team several times with his explosive batting, scored his fastest ODI century in 1996. While playing against Sri Lanka, Shahid hit a century in just 37 balls. Afridi had scored 102 runs in 40 balls with the help of 11 sixes and 6 fours. Because of this innings, Pakistan had managed to reach 371 runs. The special thing is that the bat with which Shahid Afridi scored a century in 37 balls was the bat of Sachin Tendulkar.

                     Corey Anderson

New Zealand left-handed batsman Corey Anderson comes second in terms of scoring the fastest century. He scored his fastest century on 1 January 2014 against West Indies in just 36 balls. And broken  18-year-old record of Shahid Afridi. Corey Anderson is one of the three batsmen who have faced fewer than 40 balls to complete their ODI century. Playing at a strike rate of 278, Corey scored 100 runs for the team in just 6 overs. And New Zealand won the match based on Duckworth Lewis. You would be surprised to know once that New Zealand batsman Jesse Ryder also completed a century in just 46 balls in that match. Without a doubt the start of 2014 year could not have been better where two great innings were seen in the first match.

                       Mark Boucher

South Africa's legendary wicketkeeper Mark Boucher comes in fourth place in the list of those who score the fastest century. He completed his fastest century against Zimbabwe in 2006 in just 44 balls. In his entire innings, facing 59 balls, he scored 147 runs with the help of 10 sixes and 8 fours, due to which South Africa scored a big score of 417 and defeated Zimbabwe by a big margin of 171 runs. Mark Boucher was awarded the Man of the Match award for his outstanding innings played at a strike rate of 216. His explosive innings are still in the hearts of the fans of South Africa.

                           Brian Lara

West Indian Brian Lara comes in fifth place, one of the best left-handed batsmen in the world. He completed a century in just 45 balls in ODIs while playing for West Indies in 1999. If you look at his entire innings, he scored 117 runs in 62 balls with the help of 18 fours and four sixes. Because of which the West Indies managed to score more than 300. And Brian Lara received the Man of the Match award.
